About Organize
Organize.com was founded in 1998 by Terry Shearer, our President, as a retail store named Organize Everything. After a successful career in the insurance industry and owning several insurance agencies, Terry decided it was time for a change in the next phase of his life. After much research, combined with a personal interest in being neat and a passion for gadgets, Terry became particularly intrigued with the world of storage and organization. Terry created a strategy and business plan to open a convenient retail store to shop for storage and organization solutions. Since there were no other stores of its kind within 50 miles, the small business owner opened the doors of a 9,000 square foot retail store in Riverside, CA, just across from the local mall. It would be one of the first independently owned stores in Southern California dedicated to selling Storage and Organization products to help customers organize and simplify their lives. Terry, along with two full-time and eight part-time employees, set out to find thousands of products to organize everything, just as the name said. Every store associate was personally involved with purchasing, stocking and selling product including Terry. If there was a new product to be added - it was almost like a decision in a family meeting.
